East Midlands business leaders recognised in New Year’s Honours List

A host of East Midlands business figures have been celebrated in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.

The founders of Leicester-based wealth management and employee benefits firm Mattioli Woods each receive OBEs. Ian Mattioli, chief executive of Mattioli Woods and Robert Woods, executive chairman of Mattioli Woods, are both named OBE for services to businesses and the community in Leicestershire.

Meanwhile, Melanie Ulyatt, chair of Nottingham and Derbyshire Federation of Small Businesses, gets an MBE for services to business and entrepreneurship

Professor Vidal Ashkenazi, founding director and chief executive officer, Nottingham Scientific, receives an OBE for services to science, and Priyesh Patel, managing director of Cofresh Snack Foods, is awarded an OBE for services to the economy in Leicestershire and Exports

Finally, Dr Sharon Redrobe, chief executive officer Twycross Zoo, receives an OBE for services to Skills, Science and the Economy in Leicestershire.
