Prominent Nottingham licensing lawyer leaves Fraser Brown to go it alone

One of Nottingham’s most prominent licensing law professionals has set up his own business.

Walaiti Rathore, a former partner at Fraser Brown Solicitors, has launched Licensing Law Consultancy.

LLC is a licensing service for the leisure and hospitality industry, providing specialist advice and training, and provides access to around 1,000 scheduled APLH Personal Licence courses in over 70 locations in England, Wales and Scotland.

Rathore said: “Our aim is to break barriers to specialist licensing advice and training throughout England, Wales and Scotland. We achieve this by combining advancements in technology, legal expertise and a new approach which enables us to provide a cost effective and high quality service.

“We are not set up as a law firm as it is not necessary to do so to provide a specialist licensing and training service. This enables us to be cheaper, more innovative and more transparent with pricing while maintaining a very high level of licensing service. There are multiple benefits with this structure which bring greater access, choice and fairness in the supply of legal services, providing you take care to select the right consultants.

“My expertise comes from legal training and specialist knowledge and experience gained through practising for many years as a licensing solicitor and progressing to partner level in a law firm.

“Therefore, we provide the best of both worlds in the provision licensing services; the benefits of a consultancy and the legal expertise gained through years of practicing as a specialist licensing solicitor.

Rathore says LLC will also work with other professional service providers such as banks, accountants and financial advisors.

He added: “I am looking forward to continue working with many professional contacts I have made over the years. I am also looking excited by the new opportunity of working with a range of different law firms that do not have a licensing department which was not possible in my previous position.”
