Nottingham healthcare firm expands into north-west

A Nottingham health care company has added another care home to its portfolio following funding from Barclays.

East and West Healthcare, based in the Hyson Green area of Nottingham, has purchased The Mews – a 50 room care home in Rochdale. The home offers residential and nursing care for people with physical disabilities as well as offering treatment of disease, disorder and injury.

The company, which was established in 2001, has two other homes in Rochdale and employs 146 staff. The business is family owned and led by Azad Choudhry and Mohammed Younas who have over fifty years’ experience in the industry.

Mohammed Younas, director of East and West Healthcare, said: “We have been looking to expand the business for some time and when this home became available we knew it would fit with our existing care offering in the Rochdale area. We are looking to build on the reputation of the home and offer comprehensive care to our clients.”

Alan Mele, relationship director at Barclays in Nottingham said: “Mohammed and Azad have a wealth of expertise in the industry and I am delighted we have been able to support them realise the growth ambitions of the business.”
