On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Law firm Gateley  has promoted an employment lawyer in its Nottingham office.

Clive Day (employment) has been made legal director.

Andy Matthews, head of Gateley’s Nottingham office, said: “After an incredibly busy year, it’s great to announce this promotion. Every individual has contributed to the success of the firm and this promotion is very much deserved.”

Some 30 promotions have been made nationally, spanning Gateley’s Corporate, Construction, Employment, Pensions, Regulatory, Real Estate and Commercial Dispute Resolution teams.

Peter Blant

Chesterfield-based Start Financial Planning has appointed local financial expert Peter Blant.

Blant joins Start next month as a financial planner where he will work alongside directors Steve Taylor and Michael Heath.

Blant said: “I am very excited to join Start. Locally, the firm is acknowledged and respected for its forward-thinking approach to financial planning. In light of recent political events and the economic turmoil nationally and globally, Start’s scientific approach to investment is able to take into account the constantly changing market conditions.
