Nottingham casino goes for worldwide exposure with marquee extensions

A Nottingham casino is set to expand its premises after being given planning permission to erect two marquees in a move that will create 70 jobs.

Dusk Till Dawn, which is based on Redfield Way in Lenton, will use the marquees to try and attract large poker tournaments by installing 45 extra tables and a 108-cover dining area.

A planning statement by the company reads: “This proposal represents a significant opportunity to further promote the city of Nottingham. Larger poker tournaments will make a considerable and positive contribution to the local economy as a direct result of hotel and restaurant bookings and increased retail spending and also due to the legacy and promoting of the city around the world via global TV coverage.”

The news a month after Five Guys, the upmarket burger chain, was given planning permission to open a second site on Redfield Way, creating 40 jobs.
