Founded in 1919 Metflex specialises in the manufacture and supply of precision moulded components, rubber seals and diaphragms across a global multi-industry customer base.

Its Sealing Technologies division develops products for customers across a wide variety of industries including automotive, civil aviation, machine-building, ship construction, food, pharmaceuticals and the agricultural and construction equipment sectors.

Freudenberg’s chief executive officer, Mohsen Sohi, said: “With this acquisition we are strengthening our established businesses in general industry with additional innovative technical solutions.”

Spearing Waite’s team was led by head of corporate group, Martin Smith and included commercial partner Ian Thomson, real estate partner Erin Vickers and corporate assistant Hannah Tessyman.

Smith said: “We are delighted to have advised Freudenberg on this important strategic UK acquisition. It demonstrates our ability to advise large international corporates on significant UK investments”.
