New team revealed as Lincoln hotel events space set to double

DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln has appointed a new general manager and director of sales and marketing as part of a £5m investment to expand the hotel by 45 guestrooms and suites and over 5,400 sq ft of new events space.

Jonathan Pritchard joins the hotel on Brayford Marina as general manager. Following similar positions with Millennium & Copthorne, Barcelo and Marriott Hotels, he brings 20 years’ experience within the industry.

“It is hugely rewarding and motivating for our team to see this development to come to fruition after months of hard work and anticipation. The year on year growth of the business has enabled this extensive investment and would not be possible without our team’s commitment to DoubleTree by Hilton’s CARE culture – to create a rewarding experience for every guest,” said Pritchard.

Karenza Soanes-Brown has also joined the team, taking a new position within the hotel as director of sales and marketing. She will be driving the sales and promotion of the new event spaces and bedrooms along with her team.
“We’re really excited to see the growth of our events space double to over 1,000 square meters,” Soanes-Brown said.

She added: “This will enable us to cater for up to 400 guests in our largest room, filling a gap and requirement for mid-sized venues in the Midlands, whilst providing the high standard of facilities and features our guests expect.”

Soanes-Brown previously owned a small creative agency specialising in hotels and start-ups and also spent several years in independent hotels in Cornwall, supporting them through re-branding, refurbishment and heading up the sales and marketing teams.

As well as the increased capacities, the improvements also include an additional function bar, breakout space and views of Lincoln Cathedral and Castle and two new outdoor terraces on the 4th and 5th floors.
