£11.5m student accommodation block gets go-ahead

How the scheme will look

Plans for an £11.5m student accommodation block next to Nottingham railway station have been given the green light by the city’s planning committee.

Some 222 student apartments will be built at the seven-storey Laceworks on land on the corner of Queens Road and Summer Leys Lane.

Developers Alliance Investors say the accommodation will be open in time for the September 2019 academic year. It will include a coffee shop, rooftop terrace and private dining room.

Derby’s Birchover has been appointed to market the flats. Owner Carl Bridge said: “We are really excited to be working with Alliance Investments to bring such innovative student accommodation to the market in Nottingham.

“Because of the heritage of our luxury apartment hotel business, The Birchover Residences, we always want Birchover Sales and Lettings to be associated with selling and letting the very best homes. In Alliance Investments, we’ve found a great working partner because they have proven time and again that they are at the forefront of developing the highest quality apartments.”
