LLEP names new chair

Kevin Harris

The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) has appointed Kevin Harris, partner at RSM, as its new chair.

The appointment was ratified at the LLEP board meeting on 26 June and Harris assumed responsibility of chair of the LLEP on 1st July 2018 until May 2020.

He succeeds Nick Pulley, regional director at Santander Corporate Bank, who served as a board member for two years before becoming the LLEP Board chair for the past four years.

Pulley said “Kevin has been a very valuable member of the LLEP board for over three years and is currently vice chair. He is well known and well connected in the Leicester and Leicestershire area and his interface with the business community will continue to be a great asset in this role.

“Along with the existing board members and three new board members appointed in June, I know Kevin has the ability and leadership qualities to drive the LLEP onwards and upwards.”

Harris said: “I am delighted to be taking over as chair of the LLEP at such an exciting time. The impact of global and domestic economic changes presents significant opportunities for Leicester and Leicestershire, given its strong entrepreneurial track record.

“When combined with the diversity of the local population and its excellent central location, the city and county has much to shout about. An effective Local Industrial Strategy will be a key factor for success and I am looking forward to playing a significant role in the development and delivery of this, alongside other key initiatives.”
