Morgan Sindall lands place on £240m Leicester framework

Morgan Sindall has won a place on Leicester City Council’s £240m construction framework.

Made up of four lots, the construction and infrastructure company has secured a place on the highest-value band shortlist, which covers projects worth £1.8m and over and could see up to £156m of capital works procured.

The framework will initially run for two years with the opportunity to be extended for a further two years.

Projects procured through the framework are set to cover schools, offices, cultural buildings such as museums, and transport and public realm works, as well as commercial redevelopment of sites including Leicester market.

Morgan Sindall has been working in Leicester recently, having completed The King Richard III Visitor Centre.

It is also currently building the landmark £47m Project Medius regeneration scheme, a four-and-half-acre area that will include two hotels, 35,000 sq ft of office space, and a new public realm area in Leicester city centre.

Morgan Sindall’s area director, Richard Fielding, said: “The city of Leicester is currently enjoying a remarkable growth period and it is fantastic for us to be part of it. This is a very important framework which will play a fundamental role in Leicester’s ongoing regeneration.

“We enjoy a successful working relationship with the city council and are looking forward to building on those as new projects are procured through this framework.”
