Weightmans managing partner elected for third term

Law firm Weightmans, which has an office in Leicester, has confirmed John Schorah will serve a third term as its managing partner.

Schorah became Weightmans’ managing partner in 2013 and was re-elected for the second time in 2015. This week, the firm’s equity partnership voted for him to serve for a third term, which will run until April 2022.

Formally CEO of a listed public company in the entertainment industry, Schorah joined Weightmans in 2003 and was the firm’s commercial director for six years, overseeing 300% growth in the commercial business during that time.

During eleven years on Weightmans’ board, he has overseen numerous firm acquisitions, the opening of new offices, overhauled the partnership remuneration structure and steered the firm through unprecedented technological advancement, seeing the firm’s overall revenue more than double; from £43.8m to almost £100m.

Schorah said: “It is a really exciting time for our people and our firm. We have great ambition, a fantastic client base and our people are passionate about delivering for those clients.
