New micropub for Nottingham suburb

Ralph Glover and Suzannah Adcock

The first micropub in the Nottingham suburb of Mapperley has opened its doors following a deal brokered by NG Chartered Surveyors.

The Blues Dawg on Woodborough Road has been opened by Ralph Glover after surveyor Suzannah Adcock sealed a deal to let the former charity shop unit to the real ale fan. Glover has previously been in the micropub industry and saw a opportunity to open the first such venue in Mapperley.

The new dog-friendly micropub will be stocking local real ales with four to five hand pulls available to drinkers. Glover is also stocking ciders, wines and bottled lager.

Adcock said: “It’s always satisfying to work on a deal that creates a little piece of history, and I wish Ralph well on his new venture. The popularity of micropubs in the Nottingham area is without question and I’m sure The Blues Dawg will be no different. I’ve seen the refurbishment Ralph and his team have been working on, and I know the pub’s new customers won’t be disappointed.”

Glover said: “It’s been wonderful opening up The Blues Dawg in Mapperley. The reception has been wonderful and already recognising lots of friendly faces coming back and with their thirsty owners too. I always thought Mapperley Top was crying out for a Micropub so I’m delighted to be up and running now.”
