Software developer to create jobs and invest £1m in office revamp

Creative software developer Serif is set to expand, creating 13 new jobs.

The news comes as the company prepares to spend £1m on a full refurbishment of its Wilford Industrial Estate offices and warehouse, which took a year to complete.

The jobs include director of marketing, senior copywriter and web developer.

Serif’s new headquarters were designed by its creative director Neil Ladkin, who wanted to reflect the company’s position as a leading creative software design labs. In addition to desk space, a former warehouse has been turned into a double-height atrium with a giant video wall, which can be used for presentations and events.

Ladkin said: “I intended to create a flexible multi-use office space that enables colleagues to alter their working environment to match a mood or a project. Building different areas inspires creation – the pristine white, airy modern atrium space with clean curving walls, dark earthy, upcycled wood-panelled cafe bar and the five-star luxury lounge area complete with hanging chairs and gold chain curtains.”

Serif currently employs 70 full-time staff in the Nottingham suburb.
