Notts County director steps down

Notts County director Paul Mace, the founder and managing director of sports communication company MaceSport, has resigned.

The reasons behind the move were described by Magpies owner and chairman Alan Hardy as helping the sale of the club by “realigning the club’s corporate structure”.

Meanwhile, Hardy says talks over disposing of the club continue. In a statement, he said: “It’s been a very busy couple of days, with several meetings taking place in London between myself and potential buyers.

“Expressions of interest continue to flood in and there have been plenty of positive talks with what I consider to be a number of genuine interested parties.”

Notts County’s mini-revival came to an end last night when they were beaten 4-1 at home by Newport County. The Magpies remain bottom of the Football League.
