New MD for Innes England as firm shuffles pack

East Midlands commercial property consultancy Innes England has reshuffled its management team and named Matthew Hannah as its new managing director.
Former MD Tim Garratt, who has headed the business for more than four years, is to move into the role of chairman, following Robert Hartley’s decision to step down at the beginning of the year. Both Garratt and Hartley will continue to be involved with the business on a day-to-day basis.
Hannah is a well-known figure in the local property industry and has over three decades’ experience in commercial agency. He has been a director at Innes England for 22 years and has led the regional Agency team since 2015. He is succeeded in that role by director Peter Doleman.
Hannah said: “Tim has strategically steered Innes England into the modern age, increasing turnover and profit despite some turbulent times. He successfully led the firm to move to contemporary, new offices in Derby and Leicester and to implement improved IT systems, allowing more agile working. He has also overseen a complete rebrand, which better reflects the company values.
“Tim will continue to be very much involved with Innes England and he and I will be working closely together to build on the firm’s success.
Garratt said: “I said I wouldn’t do the job forever. I think it needs fresh ideas and renewed energy from time to time. I’m delighted the board have appointed Matt as MD.
“I’m going back to what I enjoy most – looking after clients and doing deals. I’m also looking forward to supporting Matt, chairing meetings and generally being an ambassador for a business I’m immensely proud of.”
Doleman joined Innes England in 1992 and has been a director since 1997.
He said: “I’m delighted to take over as head of agency and build on what Matt has achieved. The key to our success is our in-depth knowledge of the regional market and a commitment to deliver results for our clients.”
