Professional services firm moves to new offices as turnover soars

The LoatesHR team

LoatesHR has moved to new offices at Darley Abbey Mills and taken on two new staff to meet demand.

The company, which specialises in human resources support and employment law, has more than doubled sales in the first quarter of 2019.

LoatesHR has moved from its office in Friar Gate to new premises, designed by directors Sarah Loates and Kevin Marks, in Middle Mill next to the River Derwent.

Loates, who began the company in 2011, in the bedroom of her home said: “These great new offices show how far we have come.

“We are expanding because of an increase in HR consultancy orders and because our HR training has taken off so well.

“We needed dedicated training room but we also wanted to have the most professional working conditions with great broadband connectivity, standing desks, an area where we can have lunch and even the chance to walk along the river nearby.

“We care passionately about the well-being of our team so we’re encouraging them to cycle to work and now have space for bike storage and have also installed a shower.

“Our staff work really hard, so it is nice to provide somewhere to give them a space they deserve.

“The offices are also fully accessible – in line with the award of our “disability confident” status earlier this year.”

LoatesHR’s Q1 sales hit £70,000 which is more than double the £30,000 for the same period last year.

This has enabled the firm to take on Laura Rose who was an intern during her final year as a student at the University of Derby.

Loates added: “Laura has been getting HR experience while she is studying and has been so good that she will be joining us full-time in June.

“We are delighted to give someone a job at the start of her career and we have always looked to create a pipeline of local talent by bringing them in and developing them.”

In addition, Lucy Sherwin will complement her job share of the HR manager’s role at Quad by joining LoatesHR part-time.

“Lucy is an experienced HR professional and will add significant depth to our great team, “ said Loates.
