Santander says it will cut 200 jobs in its corporate and commercial division as part of a drive to save £1.1bn globally.

In all, 330 jobs will go – but the bank says it will create 130 new roles.

The bank’s head of corporate and commercial, Tim Hinton, says the move comes after negotiations with trade unions.

Earlier this year, Santander reported that its UK profits had dropped by a third – a performance it put down to uncertainty surrounding Brexit.
