Thirty-four years after his father helped set up the company, the son of one of Lorien Engineering Solutions’ founders has joined the firm.

Andy Cooper was part of the management team that established the Burton-based engineering and project management business in 1985.

Now his son, James Cooper has joined Lorien as a project management assistant.

James, who formerly worked in healthcare recruitment, will work on a range of multi-disciplinary capital projects, reporting to head of projects Phil Colquhoun.

Colquhoun said: “Lorien has an expanding projects portfolio and our reputation rests on the successful delivery of capital projects which enable clients to achieve improved business performance. We recognise the critical factor in success is the performance of the team and we’re delighted to welcome James to the Lorien family.”
