Experienced banker joins ThinCats

A former banker with 40 years’ experience in the industry has joined alternative finance firm ThinCats.

Andy Hegedus joins the firm as director of underwriting, based at its head office in Ashby de la Zouch.

Hegedus started working the commercial banking industry in 1979, working across both client-facing and internal roles. He joins from Barclays where he spent 12 years in the SME Credit team, supporting businesses with borrowing requirements up to £4m. For 16 years prior to this, he was an SME relationship manager for Barclays.

Hegedu said: “I am excited to be joining the prominent fintech business operating in the SME lending space. ThinCat’s pragmatic lending process and market-leading proprietary technology allows me to listen and react to the needs of small businesses, in a way that people can no longer do when they are constrained by the internal processes and red tape of the big banks.”
