On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Dan Siggs

Harris Lamb has appointed a property inspector to its Business Rates team.

Daniel Siggs joins the 10-strong Business Rates team providing support to both the Birmingham and Nottingham offices.

Andrew Hulbert, director, said: “Our team has secured a number of new contracts from national PLCs, and with heavy workloads courtesy of the Government’s Check Challenge Appeal processes, we have appointed Dan as our ‘man on the ground’ to ensure the smooth running of these contracts and in collating evidence for the claims we are overseeing for our clients.”

Siggs said: “Having worked in commercial property for some years, it is a very fitting move for me as I am regularly coming into contact with former clients. There was an existing relationship with the Harris Lamb team as I’ve inspected thousands of properties for them in previous roles over the years, and it’s great to have joined the team.”

Ben Slater

Financial services and wealth management specialists, The RU Group, is celebrating the achievements of its former apprentice turned chartered financial planner, Ben Slater, who achieved Chartered status with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

Starting in client servicing administration and working for the last few years as a Paraplanner, Ben has now achieved his ambition of becoming a Chartered Financial Planner by the age of 23, the equivalent of an honours level degree.

Ian Browne, head of advice for The RU Group, said: “Ben’s positive attitude and commitment since he joined us as an apprentice has made him a real asset to our team and a great role model. The culture of learning within The RU Group inspires everyone to be the best we can in our roles and we are immensely proud of everything he’s achieved.”
