Tickets now live for Hot Property 2019

The biggest event of the year is just around the corner and tickets are now live for Nottingham Hot Property (NHP) 2019. With rehearsals well under way we sat down with Paul Wakefield, partner at Shakespeare Martineau, who talks on behalf of the top 50 law firm.

How many years have you been attending Hot Property?

Shakespeare Martineau has been committed to NHP ever since its pilot event 15 years ago! Amongst us we have managed to attend the event several times and have loved every minute – that’s why we are so pleased we can show our support and sponsor such a great cause.

Why did you decide to become a sponsor?

As a firm, we are always seeking opportunities to make a positive difference in everything we do. Hot Property always raises much-needed funds for local charities, whilst also allowing property professionals to express themselves musically – something we don’t always get to do in the office!

Given that we have a motto of #beyourself and our goal is to empower our people and contribute positively to the local community, it was a no brainer to support this year’s event.

Do you have a favourite performance from last year and why?

Of course, Jenny Keen from our in-house planning consultancy arm, Marrons Planning, who performed ‘American Boy’ by Estelle last year. She was amazing and really embodied our #beyourself motto.

What are you most looking forward to about NHP 2019?

Being able to get so involved in such a high-profile event, which raises money for important local charities, is very important to us. We also love being able to have some fun in the process!

Jenny will be performing again this year; we know she will smash it! We’re all looking forward to what else 2019 has in store!

What do you think to the theme this year – ‘Throwback’?

Everyone loves a bit of nostalgia, so we think this theme will be very well received. Hopefully there’ll be lots of old favourites for everyone to enjoy.

Have you ever had anything to do with the chosen charity for this year – Switch Up and Nottingham School of Boxing?

Jenny has been visiting the Switch Up gym in the run up to the event to connect with the young people it engages with. In addition, when we were thinking about sponsoring this year, we did a bit of research.

We truly believe that what Marcellus Baz is doing for the young people of Nottingham is remarkable and we are very proud to be supporting this charity. Using boxing alongside mentoring to help vulnerable young people act in a positive way and avoid crime and gang-criminality is so important.

Alongside Shakespeare Martineau the sponsors for this year’s event include B&M Installations, Couch Perry Wilkes, CPMG, Faithful + Gould, Fraser Brown, Pulse Consult, Samclo Construction, Savills and Ginger Root. Joining these are Invest in Nottingham, the event’s media partner The Business Desk, PR agency Cartwright Communications and design agency Blimey Creative.
