Experienced HR professional launches new venture

A new HR service for small business owners is set to launch in Nottingham.

LadyBayHR, which specialises in employment policies and procedures, will work with local companies that employ less than 50 people.

The business has been established by former HR director Pam Cannell, who has worked for a number of international blue-chip companies including Babcock, Capital One and Experian.

She said: “Many bosses don’t realise that even if they employ just one person, without the correct HR policies and practices in place, they could lose time, staff and money.

“I have worked with many small business owners and often they just need some advice and support to ensure they’re doing what they should be from a HR perspective; for example making sure that every employee has a written contract, statutory sick pay and protection from discrimination.

“My aim is to help these businesses grow by ensuring they have all the information they need to successfully employ people, which in the long run, will save them time and money and ensure their company is a place people want to work. After all, companies with an engaged and happy workforce, far outperform those that don’t.”
