Countdown to Notts Hot Property: Nick Gregory, CPMG Architects

Tickets are approaching sell-out as we count down to the hottest event of the year, Nottingham Hot Property (NHP) 2019.

With performances now being perfected, we took a moment to sit down with Nick Gregory, director at CPMG architects.

How many years have you been attending Hot Property?

The team here at CPMG have been attending NHP ever since we can remember – too many to count! We’ve been proud to sponsor NHP for the past five or so years, the event only seems to get better year on year. We have witnessed NHP try and test numerous venues, but they have got it spot on with the current setting, PRYZM – it feels like a proper concert venue!

What are you most looking forward to about NHP 2019?

It’s always a treat to see clients and colleagues that you work with everyday across the industry in a different light; it’s not every day you get to see an architect wear a wig and belt out an 80’s classic in front of 700 people!

I’m not going to give too much away and ruin the element of surprise, but I can say I’m particularly looking forward to a certain PR luminary making her debut and it’s certain to be a showstopper!

PR luminary or not, NHP is a great night for everyone involved and a brilliant opportunity to bond with the team.

Do you have a favourite performance from last year and why?

I can’t lie, all the performances were brilliant but if I had to be picky, I’d have to say Harry Stannard from CPW and his version of Regulate by Warren G ft Nate Dogg. Harry set the bar high as it’s already a brilliant track, but he absolutely nailed it.

What do you think to the theme this year – ‘Throwback’?

It must be a tough decision deciding on a theme as it’s crucial to make sure there will be something for everyone to enjoy. However, the theme ‘Throwback Thursday’ is more than ideal for the varied audience that attends Hot Property, I can imagine there will be some fantastic performances being fine-tuned as we speak!

Have you ever had anything to do with the chosen charity for this year – Marcellus Baz?

CPMG have had the pleasure of knowing Baz for a while. He’s an inspirational guy and the work that Baz and his team do is incredible; making Nottingham a safer place to be for everyone, whilst also providing young people with opportunity and hope.

Charities such as Switch Up rely on donations from events like NHP – that’s why we are so happy we can do our bit to help, allowing them to continue the amazing work they do. We wanted to demonstrate our solid support for Baz, so earlier this summer CPMG proudly undertook a 56km sponsored walk in the Peak District to raise money for Switch Up – my feet still bear the scars!

Is anyone from CPMG performing this year?

Unfortunately this year CPMG will not be performing this year, however I will personally be holding internal auditions to find at least one star so that we can be sure to take part next year.

Alongside CPMG the sponsors for this year’s event include B&M Installations, Couch Perry Wilkes, Faithful + Gould, Fraser Brown, Pulse Consult, Samclo Construction, Savills and Shakespeare Martineau. Joining these are Invest in Nottingham, the event’s media partner The Business Desk, PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency Blimey Creative and design and print agency Ginger Root.
