Charity partner named for the East Midlands Leadership Awards

TheBusinessDesk.com has named its chosen charity for the East Midlands Leadership Awards, set to be held on 6 November at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham.

This year’s charity will be Switch Up, which was set by Marcellus Baz. Tickets for the event, which will celebrate the very best business leaders in the East Midlands, are now available.

Switch Up exists to empower young people using a combination of boxing, mentorship and personal development to help around 800 underprivileged young people affected by crime and violence in Nottinghamshire at any one time, stopping the cycle of gang crime and extremism. The team’s actions are vital to support the city and give those most in need a chance to reach their full potential in life.

Switch Up uses diversional activities and early intervention techniques to engage young people in sport and positive activities, linking them to opportunities they didn’t know existed, providing positive role models, peer mentors, councillors, and support through difficult or challenging life situations.
