Strategic partnership set to boost Derby’s global profile

Professor Kathryn Mitchell and Marketing Derby's Bob Betts

Marketing Derby and the University of Derby have signed a strategic partnership which will bolster both organisations’ efforts to raise the city’s global profile.

The partnership will initially focus on promoting Derby and Derbyshire to young people, the delivery of the University’s estates vision and support for its alumni programme.

The University’s alumni community is active in championing the institution and the region across the globe.

Professor Kathryn Mitchell, vice-chancellor of the University, said: “We are delighted to have agreed a strategic partnership with Marketing Derby, one which will see us working closely together to raise the national and global profile of the city.

“Strong effective partnerships like this one are vital if we are to have a greater influence in government and with business, on decisions and policies that affect our place and the future shape of our city and county.”

Marketing Derby chairman Bob Betts added: “Marketing Derby has a long history of working with the University of Derby and the signing of this partnership agreement today recognises this formally. We are committed to look at how our closer working can make a real difference for our two organisations and the city and county.”

Established in 2006, Marketing Derby promotes Derby and Derbyshire in order to attract investment into the city and county.
