11,000 jobs on the cards as manufacturer announces new distribution facility
Deal agreed for huge new site

Games Workshop has agreed a deal with SEGRO to create a 177,500 sq ft warehouse distribution facility at the developer’s East Midlands logistics hub, potentially creating over 11,000 jobs.

The 700-acre SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway (SLPEMG) will become the main distribution hub for the Nottingham-based fantasy miniature manufacturer.

Games Workshop will join a range of occupiers at the 6 million sq ft park including Amazon, XPO Logistics and ShopDirect.

Andrew Pilsworth, SEGRO’s business unit director, national logistics, said: “This leasing represents another significant milestone for SLPEMG, representing further evidence of demand for space, and the pace at which we are able to deliver it. We have now contracted almost 3 million sq ft of space across the site, with the relocation of Games Workshop exemplifying the range of occupiers attracted to the park.”

The site is located adjacent to East Midlands Airport and will include a 50-acre rail freight interchange.

As well as providing critical infrastructure for the logistics supply chain, the development is forecast to create 7,250 jobs on site, 900 construction jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs.

Burbage Realty, CBRE and Savills are agents for the scheme.
