Major Grade II listed office building sold

Richard Sutton and Richard Priestley

A prestigious office building in Nottingham has been sold in a landmark deal brokered by Richard Sutton, managing director at NG Chartered Surveyors.

Wilford House, a 12,000 sq ft Grade II listed building set in 1.5 acres of landscaped grounds, has been purchased by a Nottingham-based engineering consultancy for an undisclosed sum.

The company is relocating to the building from its two current central Nottingham locations.

Richard Priestley of Exeid Commercial, who represented the purchaser, says that his client has “big plans” for its new headquarters.

Richard Sutton acquired Wilford House for the vendors, a local family trust, back in 2004.

Gleeds were tenants at the building until December last year.

Richard Sutton said: “Wilford House has the definite ‘wow factor’ – it’s a quintessentially British building. It really does have everything, from connectivity, accessibility to style and real personality.

“We have become trusted advisers to our vendor client and have secured a very satisfying deal using our market knowledge and experience to ensure the new owner continues to utilise this fantastic office space.”
