A Nottingham engineering consultancy has expanded with the launch of an office in Birmingham city centre.

HSP Consulting Engineers has opened its new premises in Birmingham’s Colmore Building.

Launching with six senior staff, the Birmingham office will be headed up by directors Nick Beecham and Sukhraj Ubhi, head of the Geotechnical Division Linden Baker, and HSP Consulting’s managing director Howard Pratt.

Recent months have seen HSP Consulting secure a number of high profile projects across the UK, including a 1m sq ft, £50m B&M distribution centre in Bedford; a £30m schools scheme in Leicester; £14m factory expansion in Telford for Müller; a £10m scheme for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon; and a 24-storey student accommodation site in Leicester.

Managing director Howard Pratt said: “We are delighted to launch HSP Consulting’s second office. The combination of the high number of existing clients in the West Midlands with the swell of schemes from new clients in the region made a Birmingham base an obvious choice for us.

“Offering multi-disciplinary expertise all under one roof provides our clients with streamlined, effective solutions, and we have seen demand for our services increase exponentially over the last five years. As a result, we are planning for immediate growth of this new Birmingham team, as well as at our head office in Nottingham.

“We look forward to welcoming clients to our Birmingham base and benefiting from the further-enhanced service that our expansion brings.”
