Motorcycle manufacturer issues plea for investment

The CEO of Castle Donington-based motorcycle manufacturer Norton has taken to social media to appeal for investment in the iconic British brand.

According to reports, Stuart Garner has made the plea in order to raise £1 million – a sum which would be put towards the manufacture of its V4 superbike and 650 models.

The firm has set up a Crowdcube account via which individuals can bag themselves a slice of the historic firm, which was established in 1898.

The call for funding follows the firm’s decision to give £1 million of shares to its team.

According to Norton’s web site, the company has a “solid” order book and is now looking to build “a long term shareholder base open to all.”

The plea comes after the manufacturer reported it was turning over £6.7 million in its accounts for the year ended 31 March 2018.
