Fintech lender hires in-house solicitor

Stephanie Elgie

Fintech lender ThinCats has appointed an in-house solicitor.

Stephanie Elgie will advise the firm’s business development team, provide the vital legal framework for ThinCats deals and help craft tailored contracts for clients.

After qualifying in 2017, Elgie specialised in banking and finance at Wright Hassall in the West Midlands where she acted for a range of SMEs, both lenders and borrowers, from the beginning of deals to completion.

She will be based at the company’s headquarters in Ashby de la Zouch.

Elgie said: “Before deciding to move to ThinCats, I worked closely with their team on one of their legal panels. Through this, I got to know the people and the business, so I knew this would be a perfect move. I am excited to work more closely with the business development team, bringing my specialist knowledge to bear on the wide variety of deals.”

Samantha Gray, general counsel at ThinCats, added: We are always on the lookout for talented people to add to our ranks, and after having worked with Stephanie before, she was the obvious choice for this position.

“Stephanie will work across the business helping the various business development teams secure deal completion for our clients.”
