Two East Midlands companies revealed among UK’s fastest-growing firms

Just two East Midlands companies have been named in this year’s Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 – down from five in 2018.

Published this weekend, the league table ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales.

Northamptonshire-based Warner’s Distillery comes in 12th in the tables (down from 6th last year) after posting a 131% growth in profits over the last three years. The company claims to have started the recent pink gin craze when it created its rhubarb gin.

The other East Midlands company in the rankings is Spirit Healthcare in Leicester. The company is a new entry to the Fast Track 100 in 87th, boosting profits by 46% over the last three years. A recent NHS study found that the company’s software helped reduce hospital admissions by two thirds.

Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Group, which has supported Fast Track 100 for all of the 23 years it has been published, said: “While these are uncertain times, there is one thing I am certain of: entrepreneurs are the ones driving innovation, chasing improvements and challenging the norm.

“There are so many inspiring examples of this on the Fast Track 100 league table and it’s heartening to see the power of entrepreneurship to create jobs and positive change across Britain.”
