On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

The Dairy

Nottingham-based creative agency The Dairy has promoted account manager Tom Walters to its board of directors.

Walters has been made account director after four years with the West Bridgford-based firm, which is riding high after a successful 2019.

The agency exceeded its £675,000 target last year, instead turning over £780,000 – an increase of nearly 20 per cent on the previous year.

Managing director Nigel Rowlson said: “I decided to come away from the day-to-day of marketing a couple of years ago and focus more on our own business strategy. Part of my long-term planning is future-proofing us so that we don’t end up in the same position we were in during the recession.

“Tom’s been with us for four years and in that time he’s become a pivotal member of the team, working his way up from account executive to account manager and driving us forward with new ideas whilst working on exciting, creative projects with a range of clients.

“I don’t want The Dairy to be here today, gone tomorrow. Our plan is longevity so that clients can rely on us for trusted marketing expertise for decades to come. Tom has the right attitude and all of the business acumen needed to ensure we continue to be successful in what is a constantly changing landscape for the marketing industry – and that’s why I wanted to not only promote him to account director, but invite him to join the board of directors and take more of a hands-on role with continuing to grow the agency and drive success.”

Elsewhere, UHY Hacker Young has made two new hires and two promotions.

Audit senior James Roper and semi senior accountant Eleanor Fletton have joined the accountancy firm to support growing demand for its services across the region.

Meanwhile, Amy Clarke has been promoted from supervisor to assistant manager and Victoria Clark has stepped up from audit senior from audit semi senior at the firm’s Nottingham office.

Eleanor Fletton and James Roper

James Simmonds, partner at UHY in Nottingham, said: “Our Nottingham team is growing all the time and we are delighted that James and Eleanor have chosen UHY as the place to progress their careers and develop. Although welcoming new talent is a core part of what we do, it’s also really important to us to promote from within and help our people grow such as Victoria and Amy who have both continued to develop their skills here at UHY and build impressive careers with us.

“We take coaching seriously at UHY and believe it helps to develop individual and team talent, engage people in the business, boost performance and productivity, while delivering a thriving culture. We are certain Amy, Eleanor, James and Victoria will help us to continue delivering a fantastic service to our existing clients and help to push the business forward.”
