Derbyshire lender bridges property finance gap

Chris Sellars

Former Banner Jones executive director Chris Sellars has formally launched a new venture in Chesterfield.

Sellars, who recently left the Derbyshire-based law firm after 30 years, has abandoned the world of law to concentrate on bridging finance.

His new business Bridge Help – previously a side-venture – provides short term loans of between £150,000 and £10 million for commercial property deals.

Established by Sellars and his business partners Andrew Parker and Sam Wood, the company has already provided finance for developments in Sheffield, Dover, Dundee, York, Hornsea and Norfolk.

Sellars said: “Leaving Banner Jones was an incredibly difficult decision to make but Bridge Help represents an exciting new chapter in both my professional and personal life. For 12 months the business was a side venture however, the level of demand from clients in that time has shown me the true potential of Bridge Help.

“Together with the team I have recruited, I have the opportunity to once again develop a company into a leading name in its field. I am very much looking forward to the challenge.”

The company already boasts 12 members of staff and is planning to add further recruits this year.
