Profits rise at Gateley as firm breaks through 1,000 employee barrier

Legal and professional services firm Gateley has posted sharp increases in revenues and profits for the six months ending 31 October.

Turnover rose by 11.8 per cent to £51.8 million for the period, while profit before tax leapt by 10.2 per cent to £5.5 million.

The firm, which has offices across the Midlands, now employs 1,038 staff after a series of acquisitions over the last 12 months.

Michael Ward, chief executive of Gateley, said: “The Board is pleased with the Group’s first half performance, delivering another strong set of results and reflecting our broad, well-balanced service offering and our ability to both expand and invest for the long-term benefit of the Group’s stakeholders.

“Investment in our staff complement continues, with employee headcount now exceeding 1,000.
