Job-creating alloy wheel franchise set to launch in Derby

A specialist alloy wheel refurbishment franchise is coming to Derby, creating six to ten new jobs in the process.

Wheel Surgery has taken an initial 5-year lease on premises at Centurion Way in a deal brokered by Salloway Property Consultants.

The outlet is expected to be up and running in the next fortnight.

Wheel Surgery boss Gavin Dickson said: “The market in alloy wheel refurbishment has really taken off in the last 12 to 18 months.

“Our cutting-edge operation which involves an automated process and pre-heated ovens will be here for dealerships, insurance companies and the public.

“We will be able to fully refurb wheels so that they come out like new.

“We will have the ISO 90001 certificate which will be a hallmark of our quality and we are in advanced talks with insurers who know that we will get repairs right first time.

“Our idea to get the Derby plant up and running, open more in a defined radius from here and then spread north and south.

“It is becoming more affordable for people to have nice cars and nice wheels and that is why this is a growing market.”

Salloway surveyor Hugo Beresford added: “It is great to have worked with Wheel Surgery. This is an established industrial pitch. Good access to the road network – straight on to A38 and great run through to Pride Park.

“We are sure they will be a great success.”

The owners of Wheel Surgery are planning to roll out the business across the Midlands and then the UK.
