Law firm hires experienced duo

Simon Brian and Nigel Partridge

Flint Bishop has hired two experienced lawyers in the same month as opening a Birmingham office.

Simon Brian and Nigel Partridge both join the firm as partners in the employment and insurance litigation teams respectively.

Joining from Capsticks Solicitors in Leeds, Brian brings with him over 15 years’ post-qualification experience as an employment solicitor in both contentious and non-contentious matters, including 11 years at partner level. He also headed up employment teams at Capsticks and Taylor & Emmet.

Partridge joins the partnership with over 25 years’ insurance litigation experience.

Having previously worked at personal injury law firms including Lyons Davidson, Morris Orman Hearle and Plexus Law, he has amassed a wealth of expertise acting in relation to high value casualty, motor and property claims.

Flint Bishop chief executive Qamer Ghafoor said: “Simon and Nigel are excellent additions to the partnership and their respective teams.

“Their arrival reflects a period of expansion across the firm as we continue to invest in our employees and the services we provide to our clients.

“We wish them both every success in their new roles.”

Meanwhile, partners Raj Sumal and Lorna Trueman have been promoted. Sumal formally takes over as head of insurance litigation, with Trueman officially taking the reins as commercial dispute resolution head.

Ghafoor, who previously oversaw these teams, will now concentrate on developing the firm’s strategic plans.

He added: “With our future ambitious plans for the firm, the time is right for me to hand over to Lorna and Raj who will continue to work closely with me to further develop the departments.”
