On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Clare Brady and Adam Fotiou

Property management law firm Brady Solicitors has recruited an experienced leasehold solicitor following a series of key client wins.

Adam Fotiou has joined the litigation team at the company’s offices on Regent Street in Nottingham.

He previously spent four years as an in-house litigation and dispute resolution solicitor at property management company First Port and has worked for Edmondson Hall Solicitors and Newmarket.

He said: “Brady Solicitors’ specialist and niche approach appealed to me from the get-go. The team strongly believes in establishing a genuine working partnership with its clients to fully understand their business needs. As this is something I really valued when I was in-house, I could tell right away there would be a very good cultural fit.”

Managing director Clare Brady added: “Brady Solicitors enjoyed a successful 2019, and our reputation within the sector means we are experiencing continued strong growth in leasehold and property management work. With this in mind, I’m delighted we’ve been able to kick off 2020 by recruiting such a talented and highly motivated solicitor to our team, helping to support our growth strategy across all areas of the business.”

Elsewhere, independent wine merchants Weavers of Nottingham has appointed a new managing director.

Philip Trease

Philip Trease joined the family business in 1998 with the aim of developing its online presence before becoming a director in 2001.

He is now the fifth generation of the Trease family to lead the company, succeeding his father Alan who will become chairman.

He said: “I have been at Weavers for over 20 years and during this time I have seen significant changes in trends of wine and spirits buying while seeing the business grow. I am delighted to be taking on the role of managing director and I’m excited to continue to be working with my sister Mary to take the company into the next decade and beyond.”
