Plans reveal Vietnamese restaurant could be coming to Hockley

The NVA building in Hockley

Plans to turn the former National Videogame Arcade on Carlton Street in Nottingham into a restaurant and cafe have been revealed.

A planning application to turn the building, in the Hockley area of the city, into a venue that would create 34 full- and part-time jobs has been submitted to Nottingham City Council by the Johal Pension Fund.

Initial drawings of the plans show that Vietnamese restaurant Pho could be the tenant, while there will also be a smaller cafe unit developed.

The building has been empty since July 2018, when the National Videogame Arcade closed and moved to Sheffield.

Back then, Ben Tebbutt of property agent Box Property told TheBusinessDesk.com that restaurant operators were interested in the building.

He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity in what is now the most sought after location in the city. The building – or should I say five buildings – can be split to provide a variety of different sized units. There is also a fantastic roof garden which will provide some of the best outdoor space in the area.”
