Mansfield-based furniture and fit-out company Deanestor has won a £1.3 million contract to work on a £350 million hospital development in South East Wales.

Laing O-Rourke has enlisted the firm to manufacture, supply and install furniture and fittings for its 55,000 sq m Grange University Hospital scheme. Once complete, the hospital will serve a community of over 600,000 people.

The contract, Deanestor’s 17th for Laing O’Rourke, will see the manufacturer provide laboratory furniture, shelving and base and wall cabinets for the hospital, which is due to open in early 2021.

William Tonkinson, managing director at Deanestor, said: “We are delighted to be working with Laing O’Rourke on another major hospital scheme. The Grange is a fast-track project which will deliver a centre for excellence in critical and emergency care and in less than two years. We were able to provide the capacity, quality of manufacturing, compliance and logistics management to meet Laing O’Rourke’s stringent requirements and challenging programme.”
