Weekender: Leicester named romance capital of the UK

Love is very much in the air in Leicester, according to new research by Picodi.com.

Analysis of Google figures by the international e-commerce platform shows that Leicester residents have conducted more Valentine’s Day-related searches than people in any other British city over the past two months, making it the “most romantic” location in the UK.

Amorous Leicesterites have apparently been Googling terms such as “Valentine’s Day,” “love confession” and “flowers” with gusto, beating Nottinghamians into fifth place.

Derby, meanwhile, failed to make the top 15 – to its eternal credit or discredit, depending on your opinion!*
