Next phase of £30m mixed-use scheme given the green light

A major mixed-use scheme in Nottingham has reportedly attracted significant interest from household names after Gedling Borough Council gave its second phase the thumbs up.

AC Lloyd Commercial and Henry Davidson Developments (HDD) have been granted planning permission to create a 53,000 sq ft trade park and a c. 30,000 sq ft industrial unit at the £30 million Teal Park development in Netherfield.

The trade park, which will feature 15 units in total, is expected to generate a number of job opportunities once complete.

The first phase of the scheme – a 66-bed, 20-acre residential and dementia care home – was granted planning approval in August last year. Developer LNT Care Developments is currently on site, with work expected to wrap up in February 2021.

Mark Edwards, managing director of AC Lloyd Commercial, said: “Receiving planning permission from Gedling Borough Council means we can start to transform this site into a thriving community and employment area which will create employment as well as a community hub.

“The scheme will provide job opportunities at 14 units on the trade park including the larger industrial unit.

“It is great to see activity on site to signify the start of work on the care home and we are attracting interest from local, regional and national occupiers for the trade park. We are hoping to make further announcements within the next few months once contracts have been signed.”

Richard Croft, director at HDD, added: “Interest from potential occupiers has increased over the past few months which has been encouraging and we expect this interest to continue once work starts on site of the trade park.

“Commencement of the care home is fantastic news and marks the first phase of construction on this key development for the area.”
