Traffic Alert: Crash causing long delays on the M1

Drivers have been warned that the M1 in Leicestershire is experiencing long delays of 60 minutes southbound between junction 22 and junction 21.

This is due to a road traffic collision between junction 21A and junction 21 which has closed lanes one and two.

Recovery and Highways England Traffic Officers are currently at the scene. Traffic is currently passing the scene in lanes three and four.

If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, motorists may wish to change their strategic route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from on-road variable message signs and media.
