Nottingham doughnut firm closes Derby store

Nottingham-headquartered food indie Doughnotts is set to close its Derby outlet after two and half years.

The company, which recently opened a new manufacturing facility in Nottingham, said a decline in footfall on Derby’s Sadler Gate was behind the move.

In a statement, the company said: “It’s with a heavy heart that we’ve decided to make the decision to close our Derby store. This isn’t a decision that’s been made lightly, however, due to a decline in footfall and a number of other factors out of our control we’re unable to remain open.

“It’s been an amazing three years full of happy memories, amazing staff and wonderful customers but it’s time to call it a day.

“To all our Derby customers we would like to thank you for your continued support, our Nottingham store is a short bus or car ride away for you to get your doughnotts fix.”

The Derby store will open its doors for the last time on the 11 April.
