East Midlands Airport bucks trend as it grows cargo business
East Midlands Airport (EMA) has suffered the smallest fall in scheduled flights in Europe after its cargo business grew last month in response to the coronavirus crisis.
In the week immediately following the Government’s announcement about stricter social distancing measures (16 March), the number of cargo aircraft movements increased by 10% at EMA. Across the two weeks to 29 March, cargo aircraft movements increased by an average of 7.4% a day.
