Administrators called in as care home suffers a lack of residents

The Seely Hirst care home in Mapperley

A Nottingham care home has slipped into administration following a period of under-occupancy.

Adrian Allen and Diana Frangou of RSM Restructuring Advisory were appointed joint administrators of Seely Hirst House on Friday 3 April. The company is a registered charity and trades as a 38-bed care home in the Mapperley area of the city.

RSM says the appointment follows operational and working capital difficulties following a lack of residents at the home. The administrators are continuing to trade the home, working with the Care Quality Commission and the local authorities together with the staff to maintain continuity of service for the residents and their families.

Adrian Allen, RSM Restructuring Advisory partner and joint administrator, said: “We are working hard to stabilise the care home’s operations and maintain its going concern position, working closely with all of the key stakeholders during this time whilst we seek a buyer. We hope to secure the long-term future of the home through a sale in the coming months.

“We would welcome any parties coming forward who may have an interest in acquiring the home.”
