Medtech firm snaps up ventilator manufacturer in £18m deal
Inspiration Healthcare Group, the provider of medical technology which has offices in Earl Shilton, has acquired SLE Ltd – a specialist provider of ventilators for premature and sick babies – in an £18m deal.
The enlarged group is set to become a global leader in neonatal intensive care equipment and says it is targeting £100m revenue through organic growth and acquisitions.
The deal more than doubles the number of employees, increases Inspiration Healthcare’s revenue to £34m, enables the firm to take on additional manufacturing capability and increases its global distribution network to cover the Middle East and Asia/Pacific.
The moves follows the acquisition of Viomedex – a manufacturer of disposable neonatal respiratory products in September 2019.
Neil Campbell, chief executive of Inspiration Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to have acquired SLE, a leading designer and manufacturer of ventilators used in neonatal intensive care.
“Bringing these two great British brands together will significantly enhance our position as a leader in the global neonatal intensive care sector and deliver a number of benefits that include broadening the Group’s product portfolio, an enlarged global distribution network, added manufacturing facilities and significantly increasing revenues and earnings.”
