UK’s largest homecare provider snaps up Leicestershire counterpart

Leicestershire-based Total Community Care (TCC) has been sold to City & County Healthcare Group, the UK’s largest homecare provider.

TCC was formed in 2006 by Chris Freestone and Reg Perrins. It provides bespoke care teams for people living with spinal injuries and neurological conditions in the clients’ own home.

Established in 2009, City & County help thousands of people with a wide variety of care needs to live independently at home and the company continues to grow steadily with the majority of their services commissioned by local authorities.

Freestone said: “Over the past 14 years we’ve built a highly knowledgeable and vastly experienced team of management staff who are all passionate about providing the best care possible to people in their own homes. We recognise City & County as a group which complements our client centred, bespoke approach.”

Perrins added: “We are grateful to the Provantage team for their friendly and passionate approach to helping us with this excellent transaction. Their dedication, counselling and focus on our best interests, led to a great outcome for all.”

Amanda Betts of Provantage Corporate Finance led the transaction. She said: “It has been a real privilege working alongside Chris and Reg to complete this transaction. We are delighted for the shareholders and looking forward to seeing TCC’s continued success with City & County.”

Legal advice to the shareholders was provided by a team at Knights consisting of Martin Smith, Matt Bolton, Grace Hill and Katie Sharman. Accounting and tax advice was provided by Torr Waterfield.
