GPS navigation technology company snapped up by In Phase International

GPS navigation technology company Snooper has been acquired by Nottingham-based automotive tech firm In Phase International.

Snooper specialises in mobile GPS technology for automobile and outdoor use and has a large customer base in the commercial vehicle and leisure driving sectors with its Truckmate brand.

In Phase International also owns the iconic Road Angel brand.

Road Angel has been transformed in recent years following multi-million pound investments in R&D and the release of a series of award winning devices, including the Road Angel Pure, Pure Touch and the soon to be released Pure Vision.

Founded in 1979, Snooper has been at the forefront of GPS navigation technology, on-board cameras and tyre pressure monitoring systems and has a major following both in the UK and across Europe.

Snooper’s operations manager Tony McCann said: “This is a very exciting time for Snooper as we become part of the In Phase International family. They have a fantastic reputation within the automotive technology industry and their Road Angel devices dovetail very well with Snooper’s.

“There has already been major investment ploughed into our server and communication infrastructure to safeguard and speed up our systems and data and we will soon be launching a new customer support portal and a simple to use self-service centre.

‘I can also confirm that we have new products in the development pipeline which we will announce in due course. These will complement our existing portfolio which most recently has seen the launch of the Truckmate Bridge-Saver and the Truckmate S5100 HGV Sat Nav.”
