Housebuilder pledges £1m to schools as part of £3m investment

Miller Homes is pledging almost a million pounds to schools in Great Glen and surrounding areas as it launches its new Regal View development.

The Miller Homes East Midlands team has announced a commitment of £954,788 to primary and secondary schools.

The majority will be allocated to secondary education, with £616,016 being split between Beauchamp College  and other schools. The remaining £338,772 will be invested into primary schools in the area, including St Cuthbert’s Church of England Primary School, to support the improvement of its facilities.

This funding is part of a wider investment, which will see Miller Homes contribute over £3m in total to the area.

A further £750,000 will be given to create a new hourly bus service for the village of Great Glen, that will run from Monday to Saturday between 07.00 and 19.00.

Miller Homes will also be dedicating £570,000 to improving local roadways.

Alongside a contribution of £277,610 towards improving open spaces and play areas around the village, a further £85,361 has been set aside to inject into local NHS healthcare services.

The announcement comes as Regal View on Oaks Road launches online, with a selection of three, four and five-bedroom homes now available to reserve and purchase.

Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands, said: “Location is everything for us and we believe strongly in investing in the local areas that we work in and supporting education and community facilities.

“We’re excited to provide Leicestershire residents with a beautiful place to settle at Regal View and hope that our investment helps the community continue to thrive.”
