Accountancy giant reveals new East Mids senior partner

Ali Breadon

PwC has appointed Ali Breadon as its new East Midlands senior partner.

Breadon has been with PwC for 24 years, spending much of her career based in the East Midlands, leading the Midlands Government & Health Industries teams across PwC’s three Midlands offices in Birmingham, the East Midlands and Milton Keynes. She is also the PwC UK national leader for education and has supported organisations in all parts of the public sector since joining the firm in 1996.

Breadon takes over from Paul Norbury, who hands over the reigns after six years as East Midlands senior partner to join PwC’s UK Private Business leadership team.

Matthew Hammond, Midlands region leader and Birmingham senior partner at PwC, said: “Firstly, I would like to thank Paul for his energy, enthusiasm, expertise and leadership to the region, he has worked tirelessly to place us at the heart of the East Midlands business community.

“I am delighted Ali has been appointed to this new role, which reflects our commitment to supporting the broader marketplace and our clients to navigate issues affecting businesses and communities, including Brexit and the recovery of local economies post Covid-19.

“Ali has extensive experience of managing large higher education, NHS and government assurance programmes in the Midlands and has successfully led a wide range of advisory work for public sector entities. Ali also contributes widely to community initiatives and serves as a Board member for Swim England.”

Breadon said: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed as Senior Partner for the East Midlands, a region rich in automotive, manufacturing, retail and consumer sectors and home to many of the region’s thriving private and listed businesses.

“I am particularly proud of the work we are doing with our clients during such a challenging time, which continues to have a significant impact on businesses and the economy. We are working hard to support the public sector and our clients by helping them to prepare, respond effectively and change to new ways of working in this evolving landscape.”
